This image was inspired by a French Black-Death and Symphonic Metal band “Winterburst”. The band used one of my pictures - “The Immortals’ Society” - for their debut album. The underlying idea of this image can be better understood if you listen to their music, of course. The demo CD is composed of 6 tracks on history, mythology, and mixed feelings of rage and despair presented allegorically. Ile-de-France, Band Members include: vocals – Vorender; guitars - Kyll & Jorm; bass – Freyr; keyboards - Terias; drums - Shainsaw. Winterburst Demo CD link

The Himalaya Range or Himalaya mountains ( literally it means "abode of snow"), usually called Himalaya for short, is a mountain array in Asia, separating the Indian subcontinent from Tibet. Himalaya has undeniable reference to religious teachings of Hinduism and Buddhism. While in Hinduism Himalaya is a personification of the god Himavat, in Buddhism it is closely connected with Siddhartha Gautama, known as Buddha or the awakened one who lived and taught in its area between the 6th and the 4th centuries B.C. The essence of Gautama Buddha’s teachings can be broken down to Four Noble Truths, presented sometimes in a prescriptive or diagnostic manner.

1. Life is suffering or ultimately leads to suffering – embrace it.
2. Suffering is caused by false desires. People are deluded into a distorted meaning of existence or perception of self-worth by craving certain material or spiritual things that are believed to bring on happiness or luck.
3. Suffering ends when craving ends. Only through elimination of delusion you can reach a liberating state of Enlightenment.
4. Enlightenment can only be reached if you follow Buddha’s path.
