Chasing the light | Ghost ship series
I have to comment on one physical characteristic of life forms that is being used in this image called phototropism. Phototropism is an orientation of a plant or other organism in response to light, either toward the source of light (positive phototropism) or away from it (negative phototropism). Most plants show signs of positive phototropism. So does this pirate vessel navigating towards diffused sunbeams of an oceanic sunset. It seems that the twisted trees stem from the hulls and the decks of the ship making it one living organism. Living... Does not it strike you as oxymoronic, a phantom ship - a dead ship, really - chasing the light with all her might so that she becomes capable of such a miraculous transformation into a living entity? Strangely enough, there’s much serenity in the ocean trying to find a compromise between the frenzy of the elements and the quiet of a sunset. Once again, the magnetic quality of the light dominates the marine landscape.
